Good news – The project manuscript for our 2019-2021 army cutworm moth-grizzly bear research in Glacier National Park will be published in the August 2026 issue of Biological Conservation!

The manuscript is open access and available now through their website via this link: https://authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S0006-3207(26)00203-X

Check it out sometime and let us know what you think! Questions are welcomed too. Please share the manuscript with others. A big THANK YOU to the Glacier National Park Conservancy for their financial support and the small ARMY of people/entities out there who helped facilitate or implement this study in some small-large way.
Oh my goodness, you did a tremendous amount of good work. I do hope that Glacier Nat’l Park uses your study to limit human access to the better talus slopes that aid the foraging of grizzlies. Thank you for your words “valuable for supporting continued population recovery within the NCDE”. I hate to hear when anyone says that they think grizzlies have reached a saturation point, which I don’t believe they have nor ever will. It’d be interesting someday, if you’d let AI re-write the report and exclude words no one really uses outside of the scientific community. There were lots of words that I didn’t know the meaning of, and far too many to look up. Great study and thank you for doing it. Helping grizzlies access a good food source will always be important.
